Installing custom (fan-made) maps (SWBF2).
Getting bored of playing the same maps over and over again? Me too. So I'm going to explain how to install new maps for SWBF2.
DOES NOT change the CODING of the game!!
!!YOU MUST HAVE NO MODS INSTALLED!!
I play Battlefront 2 on Steam, so I can't promise that my instructions for the non-Steam game will be accurate.
-!-!-!-!- Steam version. -!-!-!-!-
- Go to your SWBF2 files, in the Steam games directory :
- Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > SteamApps
> common > Star Wars Battlefront 2 > .
-!-!-!-!- NON-Steam version. -!-!-!-!-
- Go to your SWBF2 files, in the LucasArts directory :
- Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > LucasArts
> Star Wars Battlefront 2 > .
- Enter the 'GameData' directory. In here, you should find files such as a 'testapp'
for the game and 'chat logs', which has the chat history for multiplayer.
IN THIS FOLDER, make a NEW folder called "addon", no spaces, no capitals.
-!-!-!- This is the folder where you put the custom map files -!-!-!-
- Go to this link for a selection of fan-made maps!
There are mods as well, if you're interested.
-!-!-!-
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/files/Star_Wars_Battlefront_2/Maps;6083
-!-!-!-
- Select a map that looks interesting to you, download it (if you're not scared of
viruses) and unzip/extract the Zipfile/winrar.
= I will use Seleucami Valley map as an example.
- When you unzip/extract the file, there should be a 3 letter/digit file.
-!-!-This is the custom map file. DO NOT TAMPER WITH THIS FILE -!-!-
= Seleucami Valley's 3 letter/digits are = 'BOS'
- COPY this 3 letter INTO your 'addon' folder we made earlier.
= Now the 'BOS' file (Seleucami Valley) is in the 'addon' folder.
- Run Star Wars Battlefront 2, go to singleplayer, Instant Action, and you should see
the map there (in YELLOW letters).
= Seleucami Valley worked for me.
- I cannot promise you that crashes WILL NOT occur, and some of the maps MAY be laggy. But overall, I hope that this guide was useful. If you're having problems with
it, PM me for support.

Also, the more maps you have in your addon folder, the more laggy online will be too, so if you are not using a map, keep it on your computer for safekeeping if you want better online, then all you have to do is put the map back in the addon folder once you want to use it again

Re: Installing custom (fan-made) maps (SWBF2).
Some of my favorite maps w/ links ::
- Tatooine: Mos Eisley Spaceport
A larger, more movie-like version of the Mos Eisley Spaceport.
http://www.gamefront.com/files/files/14665837/rends_moseisley_v1.zip
- Seleucami Valley : link above in guide
A fair-sized map, with a fun Assault mode (not heroes or space).
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Saleucami_Valley;93299
- Tatooine: Outpost
A large map that is basically the desert where Luke lives with his (now dead) Uncle.
http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/addons/tatooine-outpost-30
- Naboo: Siege of Theed
A very large map that is based off of the retaking of Theed in Ep. 1.
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21054882/Bantha55_Naboo_FINAL.rar
- Death Star: Prison Break
A larger, more movie like version of the Death Star. Kind of confusing at first.
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Death_Star_Prison_Break;117127
- Star Destroyer v.1.0
A large (spans an entire Star Destroyer, 1 mile approx.) map.
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Star_Destroyer;100801
- Battle Arena 2.0
Most of you already know of this map, but I'm putting it here anyways.
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Battle_Arena_20;101637
I WILL UPDATE when I find new maps. Give all of these a try.

The Dark Times- basically all the original maps (and some more) get a new time period of the Dark Times, which is the same period of the Force Unleashed (btw the hero assault on this sucks)
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/;99177
The Dark Times II- same thing as above except with a couple more maps, characters, and modes
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/;116087
Courscant City- a sketchy but large and fun map of the city of Courscant

When you find NEW maps, just edit any old posts you made about maps. Saves space.[NH]CommandoChris wrote:Np and here are some of my favorites:

Re: Installing custom (fan-made) maps (SWBF2).
What really sucks is, I have a different version of SWBF2 than y'all, so I cannot install maps (yes, I've already tried this about 3 times). I will look for an alternate method of doing it, one that is compatible with my version of BF2...(my maps and GameData folder is structured differently than y'all's)
